Field Notes

Description:

Not wild but part of my plan to remove invasive plant species from our property. :) Will document this process as we go. This is a seven year old mama named Naomi, and lambs about an hour old. She is a Dorset/Katadhin/Blue Faced Leister cross and is a dairy sheep. The lambs daddy was a Suffolk. They are a boy and a girl (ram and ewe - or "yow" as they used to call the females here).

Habitat:

Domesticated. Prefers arid upland grassland.

Notes:

I think the tall tree is a "tulip poplar" Liriodendron tulipifera - the trees are so stunty here on the ridge that it's hard to tell without leaves. :) The dog is my Border Collie Ted, by the way.
