AshleyT No worries! I'm willing to bet it is just a dark rosebelly lizard (S. variabilis). They are extremely common in the valley and you can see the faint dorsolateral stripes even on the very dark body.
AshleyT This is a spiny lizard in the genus Sceloporus, hard to tell which one from the photo though since it is so dark. Not an anole though!
