Field Notes

Description:

Red and Black spider approximately 10mm long <br> This one has distinctive pale markings within the black of the abdomen. <br> Very busily searching for prey as it prepares for winter.

Habitat:

Exploring the crevices of a large eucalyptus tree.. possibly E.ovata.. near the edge of a lake in a local nature reserve.

Notes:

Genus or species might be difficult to establish but I think it could be N.peregrinus <br> There are many species yet to be described in this uniquely Australasian family.
