Description:

The bright-orange patches on their hind legs are usually hidden, but exposed when the frog leaps. This "flash pattern" likely serves to startle a predator as the frog makes its escape.

I'm glad I saw this. I live in Alamance County and I hear these singing all summer. But I've never seen one.
