Pure white plumage except for one gray smudge that might have been mud or dirt
If it's plumage was white streaked with gray, then it's probably a young Dalmatian. All other white pelicans are pure white on their heads and necks., except for the Philippians pelican, which doesn't migrate.
The only native pelican in this area is the Dalmatian pelican (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalmatian_Pelican), but if you saw it in a zoo or wildlife park it could be something else.
Thanks for the help, just started this, birds not really my strong suit. :)
That definitely looks like a pelican to me, but I don't know what species
