Habitat:

Spotted on vegetation in a large semi-urban yard & garden adjacent to a disturbed patch of remnant forest in the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea.

Thanks, but Thymelicus is a Palearctic (i.e., far north of the equator) genus, which does not appear on the list of New Guinea butterflies.
