Field Notes

Description:

Might be a cabbage white, but there is just one spot on the upper wing. We've had quite a few of these this year, and that's been true in all cases (just one spot, upper wing). Not very large - less than 2 inches.

Habitat:

Pacific Northwest, town in the midst of forest, 95.3 inches of rain last year, about 1,000' elevation.

Notes:

The plant is a bushy geranium - small flowers that bloom all season.

Green Nature
Yes, cabbage white. One little known fact about them is that the spots help determine gender. Males have one spot per wing, females have two spots per wing. http://greennature.com/article35.html

I think you were right in your assumption of it being a cabbage white.
