Field Notes

Description:

Green Heron

Habitat:

Lives near marshy waters, these shots were taken along the waters edge at Canoe Creek State Park . Because his plumage is blue he is easily mistaken as the Great Blue Heron.

Notes:

It was very interesting sitting in a canoe watching him hunt, he crept very slowly and went in for the kill of a poor dragon fly.
