Description:
Resembling special pizza with puffy pink margins and covering the top of an abandoned gate post.
Habitat:
In what's now designated national park this are was once used for small scale farming. These old gate posts must have been abandoned at least 40 years ago. Post made of eucalyptus.
Notes:
Distinctive colour, growth and habit. <br> Name is now Rhodofomitopsis instead of Fomitopsis <br> It is a white-rot fungus that grows on rotting eucalyptus wood. <br> This species was reported from India for the first time in 2009, and from Brazil in 2015.
