Field Notes

Description:

Hard, shiny black, round Weevil about 1 cm long. When touched, it pulls in its legs and falls to the ground (as in the last picture) pretending to be dead. It is so hard to photograph shiny black insects.

Habitat:

Found at the Highway Toll Booth to Arriaga on the edge of the Sepultura Biosfera Reserve.
