Could be a vertebrae of a sheep or goat. The growth could be a sign of cancer or calcification. I'd take it to a local university for identification. Call for an appointment first .
It's about the size of a large fist or apple.. The middle looks very strange to me.. kinda like the shape of a small brain.
Yes, it could be the vertebra of a bovine creature, and given the location of the find, that is highly likely. Thanks for your insight.
This is almost definitely a cow vertebra. They're surprisingly large. :)
I concur with flybeasley. How big is it, and is that a tuberous growth in the center? It looks like coral! Very interesting find.
Looks like the vetebra of a small whale or dolphin.
