Field Notes

Description:

Barkfly of about 5mm from head to the wing tips. Orange head and banded abdomen; humped thorax with wings held tent-like above body; wings show sparse venation and dark patches; long thread-like antennae.

Habitat:

Found in 'El Cimatario', a national park in semi-arid area just outside the city. The rainy season is now in full swing and many animals are venturing out.
