Field Notes

Description:

Crambidae; Spilomelinae; Omiodes diemenalis (Guenée, 1854). Wikipedia has a short, but informative article on this moth and shows a list of the countries in which it is distributed. Once again, the Philippines does not appear on the list. However, Philippine Lepidoptera have it on display in their collection. So, I feel secure in my identification.

Habitat:

This Bean Leafroller was spotted on Tropical Whiteweed (Ageratum conyzoides) on a patch of uncultivated land near an old farmhouse.
