Field Notes

Description:

Juveniles already starting to develop the characteristic color of the adult male in their throats and chins. A bit exhausted from competing with other males for food.
One amazing fact is how much these birds can travel: they breed in southwestern areas of United States and winter in Central America, reaching Panama on their wintering destination.

Habitat:

Paraiso Quetzal.
