Field Notes

Description:

Plataspidae; Plataspinae; Coptosoma sp. (this might be Coptosoma xanthogramma). "Coptosoma xanthogramma was described from specimens collected in the
Philippine Islands (White, 1842), where it apparently occurs at least on the
island of Luzon." according to https://scholarspace.manoa.hawaii.edu/handle/10125/10935

Habitat:

This infestation of Black Stink Bugs was spotted on String Beans (Vigna unguiculata) locally called Sitaw, in our vegetable plot.

Notes:

Having viewed the following spotting by Arne.roysland, I now think that this bug is Coptosoma variegatum - https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/1120333854
