Field Notes

Description:

Orange body with a long proboscis. Wings clear with black pattering. I found this female hanging in a strand of spider web. I set her loose and she let me get a photo of her! Wing patterning is helpful in determining species (will work on that later).

Habitat:

Meadow bordering temperate forest. Gardiner County Park, NY.
