25.2906, -80.7983
Field Notes
Habitat:
upland dry pine forest, pine and palmetto flatwoods, sandhills and coastal maritime hammocks, longleaf pine/turkey oak habitats, grass-sedge marshes and swamp forest, cypress swamps, mesic hammocks, sandy mixed woodlands, xeric hammocks, and salt marshes, as well as wet prairies during dry periods
Notes:
Came upon this guy while driving out of Everglades National Park, (the position on the road is an approximation) I had gone all the way down to the Flamingo Visitor Center and was on my way back. I stopped to take some shots (first spotting for this species so very exciting). It never rattled, but did compact its body into S-shape kept turning to face me as I moved to take pics.
