Description:

Found under log in middle of what is usually a pond, first time I have seen it completely dry. Approx 3cm

Size of frogs/toads at metamorphosis depends on how much food they get as a tadpole. Bullfrogs are generally huge tadpoles, which turn into huge metamorphs because they eat everything, but some just can't find as much food or are forced to metamorphose early due to conditions not being good, and this is why they can be smaller.

Thanks Ashley, it is what I suspected. The small size confused me, I have seen tadpoles that were nearly the same size?
