This is a Trachemys venusta or the Belize/Meso American Slider. They can get up to a foot long in shell length. I have a close, Central American, relative to this species at home, a Nicaraguan Slider Trachemys emolli.
It appears they are being sold as pets online. They seem to be a fancier version for sale where the patterns are more pronounced. Beautiful turtle. You might find information under the following as well: Trachemys scripta venusta
i don't remember exactly if they had red marks.. they're like 5 years old..
but I'm really curious about their shells... i haven't found another turtle with this kind of shell..yet.. haha :)
On a second look, the red spots should've shown already so its not a RES. The other two pics won't load for me so I can't tell from just the head shot.
