Field Notes

Description:

They hunt smaller bees, primarily sweat bees (Halictidae) such as Lasioglossum (Dialictus) but occasionally they even take smaller solitary wasps such as Crossocerus (Crabronidae). The females sometimes nest communally and may even share the same nest entrance but each female tends to her own brood.

Habitat:

This particular beewolf was hunting in my backyard Snow on the Mountain bed
