Description:

Upperparts are gray, underparts are pale gray; crown, black, and bill are black. Legs and feet are yellow.

Habitat:

This wetland bird frequent ponds, streams, marshes, lagoons, exposed reefs, and tide pools.

Notes:

Feeds on crustaceans, fish, frogs, mice, insects, and downy chicks or other water birds.
