Description:

white to tan fleshy cap, white gills, tough-fleshy stems eccentrically connected to cap, on wood usually near the bottom of tree trunks...white spore print

Habitat:

near the lower trunk portions of standing hardwood trees (not conifers), Telluride, Colorado

Notes:

edible when well-cooked
