Field Notes
Description:
It is a medium to large sized longhorn beetle in the genus (Eburia). It has a brown elytron, head, and thorax. The abdomen has four sets of two white spots with a black surrounding. The white spots Are why it's called Ivory Longhorn. The length was about 22 mm. and the antennae about 2-3 inches long.
Habitat:
Suburban, Fort Worth, Texas. Found at a light trap on a new moon night.
Notes:
This beetle has a huge lifespan, from being a grub in a tree for 10-40 years and as a beetle for a couple months. I suspect this one is a female because of the large size.
