Description:

stout mushroom with reddish brown tacky cap, sponge-like yellowish tubes and pores underneath, white flesh, and white bulbous stem with fishnet-like reticulation at apex.

Habitat:

on the ground under spruce, Telluride, Colorado

Notes:

choice edible mushroom
