Description:
Beautiful small fan shaped liver worts, about 100 mm wide, with thin leaves each dividing into two lobes. These were seen in layers forming a dense cloak.
Habitat:
Spotted covering a damp log with what looked like asplenium fern in a damp gully - rainforest.
Notes:
Liverworts are the simplest of plants and often form mats on various substrates. Most liverworts are attached to their substrate by rhizoids which are like roots but do not help with nutrient absorption. <br> This species belongs to : <br> phylum Marchantiophyta <br> class Jungermanniopsida
