Field Notes

Description:

I "catch" 5-10 of these frogs in my salt water swimming pool each night for the past 10 days or so in Woodstock, CT. I can't seem to figure out what species they are even after searching the web & my Audubon guides. They are 1.5-2.5 inches long, dark green to brown, speckled body & have splotched/striped legs with no discernible orange/yellow/red on their abdomen (see pics). Any help?

Habitat:

Deciduous forest/rural

Species ID Suggestions

Comments (1)

I would guess these are immature frogs, perhaps bullfrogs. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can clarify. Do you have any images of the side of the head?
