Field Notes

Description:

At first I could only see the legs of this large Southern House Spider. After many nights of checking I finally saw her venture from her crevice to catch a Tiger Beetle.

Habitat:

Airport grounds

Notes:

This spider was very large for the species. The metal bar that makes up the right side of her crevice is 4" X 4" and she easily spans the width of it.
