Hi Pam! Do you remember how big this was? I wonder if it could be one of the many Giant Cupids (Lepidochrysops sp. or Orachrysops sp.): it has some of their characteristics, that is: well marked spots, a series of submarginal chevrons, and a red or orange crowned black cubital spot.
