Field Notes

Description:

Tripinnate leaves that are finely divided and lacy. The small, white flowers are clustered in flat, dense umbels. They may be pink in bud and may have a red flower in the center of the umbel. This tiny red flower is colored by anthocyanin, and it's purpose is to attract insects.

Habitat:

Spotted in a meadow at Pratt Nature Center
