This turtle was in a shallow stream with a red-eared slider.

Habitat:

Stream running through a development greenbelt.

This is an older, melanistic individual. Not completely black yet, they often get those squiggles all over the head before they go fully melanistic. It is extremely common for older sliders to be melanistic
