Field Notes

Description:

About 20 mm wide these mushrooms caps were brown and covered with dark brown fibrils which stood out in a tuft at the cap centre. The stipes were also brown and covered with pale fibrils. Gills were brown and spaced.

Habitat:

Spotted amongst moss in a clearing in a eucalypt forest.

Notes:

These caps did not have a pronounced umbo which is a feature of this genus.
This is said to be an uncommon mushroom.
