Thanks Gary, yes, as usual you are right; they grow in this area.
looks like an Amanita - bits of the veil are apparent on the edge of the cap - looks like it has some kind of cup at the base of the stem - could be something like Amanita ovoidea can't really tell from these photos - not diagnostic for identification - but beautiful
