Thanks for the suggestion, I've changed the details to your suggestion but left the "required ID" box ticked just in case.
Ah well, birds don't always stick to a set timetable, my book suggests for a Ruby-crowned Kinglet it was either in the summer or migratory range and the weather that year was still summerlike so perhaps it extended its stay or took its time returning south. I have to agree it looks very like the drawing of a female.
Not 100% positive on the ID since it seems to be a bit out of its range for the time of year it was spotted, but it's a dead ringer for the wing and tail coloration and the beak. If it is a ruby-crowned kinglet, it's an immature or female one.
