Field Notes

Description:

White wings, head and fore-neck. Back is grey. The hind neck is a lovely golden colour. The legs and very long toes are grey.

Habitat:

Vegetation infested large freshwater lake.

Notes:

This one is in breeding plumage. This is the only Jacana species that has nuptial plumage when it grows a long tail.
