brown cap, white gills, ring on stem with scaly sleeve-like stem covering below ring; very fragrant (spicy, cedar-like)

Habitat:

on the ground under cedars, Morocco, North Africa

Notes:

a very good edible mushroom!
one species or another found throughout the mountainous northern hemisphere
