Perforated St. John's Wort

From photos it,s not easy to I.D.a plant with many species.sub-species and hybrids.You need to look at the stalk,Square or round. Look at the petals.Hold one up to the light,to check out if perforated( small opaque areas) or not. There are many wildflower field guides in North America. I,m sorry for going on and on. Good luck.But beware looking at wildflowers can become an obsession,with so many.You may finish up like me,on my knees looking at street weeds LOL.

This is only a suggestion.We have this in Britain,but there are many species. Check out Hypeicum species for your area.Notice the black spots along the petal edge.Good luck with I.D.
