It wades in the water and you can get very close and it will not harm you

It is an anhinga because this is the anhinga trail and I saw the commorants later on
Before I saw the above comments, I was pretty sure it was a Cormorant also. When you first get to know them they can be difficult to determine.
I agree. The anhinga has a long narrow bill, cormorant has a hook. Also the anhinga has a longer more slender neck. plus different colors. They are easy to confuse though because they are somewhat similar
Pretty sure that's a double-crested cormorant... anhingas have much longer necks and more slender bills.
