Field Notes

Description:

4 or 5mm spider. It seems to be uniquely evolved to use Casuarina trees as hunting grounds and is disguised as a flat node on a twig

Habitat:

Unsure as to the species. Possibly Black Sheoak (Allocasuarina littoralis) in an area of remnant coastal dry woodland ridge

Notes:

It is the second green Dolophones within a few hundred metres although I think it a second species as well

Yeah you're probably right. So often the case when you see some weird thing for the first time it's almost amusing how small it is. I'll wear my glasses next outing. 8-)

I am surprised you haven't although they are tiny. I fell over the first one and then it just got easier but I have found them on a different plant each time, mainly trees
