Field Notes

Description:

Stem is largely unbranched, and the leaves are somewhat grasslike. It exudes a milky juice from the stems. The flower head is about 5 cm across, and each is surrounded by green bracts which are longer than the petals (technically, the ligules of the ray flowers). The flowers are dull purple in color and 3-5 cm across.

yes, green sepals were gathered in centre of the flower, than it opened very fast...
they opened in front of your eyes (was it very fast process)? :) but it looks gorgeous this way! :))
