Description:

Very rare Mariposa Lily... limited to 3 small sites in Douglas County, Oregon.

Habitat:

mid-elevation meadow on ridge.

Notes:

Shot lots of photos as company planning to devastate this site by placing a gas-pipeline right through site along Bilger Ridge.

Cynthia, Thanks for the comment. To tell the truth someone a few years earlier discovered the site. Some Botanists and botany enthusiasts went along together to document the site and see how it was fairing. The last I know of, the company's plan for laying the pipeline along this route was in litigation due to the company's leading many affected landowners astray.... strangely, thus far, the plant has had no impact on the pipeline route and the county commissioners signed off agreeing to the route. Let's hope the pipeline route get's changed so that it won't effect this special site of Cox's Mariposa Lily. Tom
