Field Notes

Description:

Small fruits with about 6cm long, most of which had a flattened tear shape. Unsure of the size of the tree; Its leaves were oval shaped, most of them as small as the fruit, the bigger ones were around 8cm long.

Notes:

Found deep in the wild, abandoned parts of a small village where most plants and trees were tangled with each other. I didn't really get close to it due to the terrain, that hand belongs to my mother. I was told this was an "Aspidosperma pyrifolium" ("Pereiro" in Portuguese), a type of pear tree that gives these small pears. In Portuguese we call them "Pêros" the male form of what we usually call pears: Pêras. I'd love if someone with more expertise on the subject could confirm this information / ID.
