Description:

Pollinators enjoyed this plume-like fountain of yellow flowers. S. altissima is one to two meters tall, with fine hairs on the stem. The leaves are located along the stem, not in a rosette near the ground

Habitat:

Native to much of North America. It is common in much of its range, and fairly tolerant of landscapes which have been disturbed by humans. It has been introduced to many parts of the world.

Notes:

Spotted in a brushy area between a church and neighborhood.
