Field Notes

Description:

Turtle ~ 3 feet long, hauled out on beach.

Habitat:

Near shore tropical waters; coral reef ecosystem.

Notes:

Spotting while walking along Shipwreck Beach. I took a picture with my digital camera as I approached (the third posted image), and a second with my APS camera while standing close by. The turtle seemed put off by my presence. By the time I switched to my camera with black and white film, it had turned itself around and started into the water. Both of the film images were eventually converted to digital files. In one case, the resultant color print was scanned; in the other, the B&W negative was scanned.
