Field Notes

Description:

Red foxes are the largest of the true foxes. Reddish fur with white throat, white tip on the thick, bushy tail. There are, however, many different color phases of this animal.

Habitat:

Red foxes are distributed throughout the northern hemisphere and have been introduced into other areas as well, in numerous types of habitat.

Notes:

I've found red foxes in urban and rural communities. This particular fox was highly habituated animal living in the outskirts of Estes Park, Colorado.
