Field Notes

Description:

It's not the best picture, but I was really fascinated by these little thready, pipey fungal growths. Not sure if they are mushrooms or something else. They are the green stems with red tips growing on this downed tree.

Habitat:

Growing on a dead and rotting tree in Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, ME

Notes:

Multiple threads branching off a central stem. Sorry the picture is not much better.
