Field Notes

Description:

I believe this is a Slate-throated Redstart (also known as Slate-throated Whitestart). Spotted in Monteverde Cloud Forest, Costa Rica.

A distinctive warbler with a rufous red crown and outer tail feathers tipped with white which it often displays by fanning it's tail - as seen in some of the photos (sorry for the poor quality).

Habitat:

Cloud forest rain forest
