Field Notes

Description:

Small (a bit smaller than sparrow) european finch, distinctive yellow appearance, striked dark-grey and yellow on the back. Short tail, and short, seed-eating bill.

Habitat:

Common european species, often found on edges of woodlands and cultivated fields. Here, observed on edges of wooded area in local park, on trees around the pond. The park itself is in rural part of the valley of lake Geneva, just in between Jura and Alps mountains ranges.
