Field Notes

Description:

A small passerine bird in the swallow family with a metallic blue-black above, light grey below on the breast and belly, and rusty on the forehead, throat and upper breast.

Habitat:

Tropical rainforest.

Notes:

We were on a dawn bird-watching trip on the Daintree river when this swallow decided to take a rest on the bow or our boat.

We have them here at our house as well. A pair nests in one of our sheds and one of my earliest posts was their nestlings from a few years ago.
