Field Notes

Habitat:

These parrots live in/around Valencia's Jardin de Turia park in Spain. We spotted them in the trees as we were walking on the road that runs above and alongside the park.

Rose-ringed Parakeet

Psittacula krameri

These are actually Parakeets. They used to live in the Royal aviary in the parque real until a couple of hundred years ago when an earthquake released them. Now they live all over the city and there are several species as well as some probably hybrids. These could be ring-necked but I cannot see the ring on the first picture and the second might be a shadow..
