Field Notes

Description:

Black head. Red vent. The upper parts and breast are dark. Each brown feather has a pale edge, resulting in a ‘scaly’ appearance.

Habitat:

The wilderness area just behind a tiny juice stall. The owner put out some rice and I contributed the watermelon garnish and this bulbul came over to have quick snack.

Notes:

Abundant near my home...I was happy to see this bird in Sri Lanka.
